MEET CHUCK TAGGART

After much consultation with my family, trusted counsel, and numerous residents unhappy with the high-density developments recently approved by the Southlake City Council, I am announcing my candidacy for Southlake City Council, Place 5.

With a degree in Civil Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, I have overseen large-scale construction projects and focused on remediating contaminated properties. Later, I successfully ran an insurance business before retiring. This uniquely positions me to evaluate city projects and proposals with a critical and informed perspective.
I have been married to my wife for over 21 years, and my family has lived in Southlake for 15 years. Our kids attend Southlake Carroll ISD, and we are active volunteers in this community. We love this community and are dedicated to preserving its low-density tradition.

Before moving to Southlake, I served on the Fox Point Neighborhood Association in Providence, RI, where I worked to preserve historic buildings and neighborhoods. Here in Southlake, I have been very active in the conservative movement and was a leader in defeating the CCAP in our schools. I continued my commitment to the community by serving on the CISD Safety & Security Committee, the CISD Policy Review Committee, and the CISD Budget Reduction Advisory Committee. Now, I would like to volunteer my time and skills to our great city.

I am running to represent the many residents who share my concern about high-density developments and their impact on Southlake’s character. As a retired professional with no personal or financial conflicts of interest, I have plenty of time to dedicate to the city council and prioritize the best interests of our city.

I would be honored to have your support and your vote. If you have questions or want to connect, please message or call me anytime. Together, we can keep Southlake, Southlake.

For Southlake,
Chuck Taggart
